A judge in Elmore County, Alabama says the Alabama football fan who poisoned Auburn University's Toomer's Oaks is able to pay restitution for his actions.
According to court documents Harvey Updyke is ordered to pay $796,731.98 to Auburn. The documents say the payments will be made in $500 a month increments. This money will go to help pay for the restoration of Toomer's Corner. That includes the cost to remove the trees, which happened earlier this year. It also will help pay for landscaping of the area.
Updyke is also ordered to pay court costs and attorney fees of around $18,000.
