BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Police have released more information about a suspect accused of burglarizing a doctor's office.

Police say that Tyrone Sanders, 43, broke into Dr. Anjanetta Foster's office three times within a week. In all, Sanders is accused of stealing $20,000 in cash, several laptops and stereos. Sanders also allegedly damaged a $10,000 machine.

Now, police have charged Sanders in several other crimes.

Birmingham police say that when the arrested Sanders, he was in possession of a stolen car. Officers have also linked him to multiple burglaries in addition to the ones at Foster's office.

Foster says she was told Sanders has a serious drug problem.

"I'm sad because there are programs available to help with the drug habit. There are programs available if he actually needed money for things. And we are constantly putting people in touch with these agencies...and putting people into rehab. So there were options other than hurting us," she said.

Foster praised the Birmingham Police Department for the work they did to make such a swift arrest. She also says that she will keep her office on Tuscaloosa Avenue but with more security.
