Spoiler alert: This article reveals the results of Thursday night's episode of 'Wheel of Fortune.'
Folks watching Wheel of Fortune Thursday night on WAFF 48 saw a Tennessee Valley woman playing "America's Game."
Meagan Dempsey of Decatur is one of the three people who hoped to spin, solve and win. She and her husband Jason flew out to California to tape the show back in October, and had to keep the results a secret until after Thursday's broadcast.
Jason said she's been trying to make it onto the show since college, and when she was finally accepted, they weren't sure it was real until the moment she stepped onstage.
"We're on one end of the stage, they're on the other… I had a lot of emotion for her – excitement, but I was nervous for her at the same time. I wanted her to do good. I wanted her to have a good time because I knew it was her life-long dream to be on there," said Jason.
While not revealing the outcome of her game, Meagan said playing the game from home and playing for keeps on the show is a world of difference.
"It is so much easier on your couch yelling at your TV than it is being up there in front of everyone. It's more nerve-wracking," Meagan said.
The best part of the whole experience, Meagan said, was meeting Vanna White. "She actually came into the contestant room while we were talking about ourselves, and she popped in, and we all freaked out: ‘Oh, my gosh, it's Vanna White!'"
Meagan fought hard to make it through the game, following an easy Round 1 win. But during a difficult round which saw all three players hit Bankrupt multiple times, Meagan failed to top opponent Andy.
She finished in a respectable second place, and earned $4,000 for her efforts.
