CLARE LIVE - The Ross Bridge Holiday Market is Saturday at the Ross Bridge Town Hall from 10am until 3pm. It is a day to get all of your holiday decorating, catering, and unique gift giving ideas in a fun and festive atmosphere. It is free and open to the public. You can stop in the gravel lot across the parking lot and get your freshly cut Christmas tree from the boy scouts then come to the holiday market in the town hall and get fresh and artificial garlands, wreaths, and mailbox swags from Dorothy McDaniel Flowers. There will also be an assortment of caterers taking orders for the holidays and vendors with unique gift ideas including hand knitted scarves, hand-made jewelry, and unique gift items for children. BIRMINGHAM CITY COUNCIL PRESIDENT - The Birmingham City Council has a  new President. Councilman Johnathan Austin was selected by a five to four vote. Johnathan joined us this morning to discuss what's ahead for the Council and what he hopes to accomplish. He takes over after the death of Maxine Parker who was just recently elected the Council President.

BANKRUPTCY - It's was a historic day for Jefferson County.  The county officially exited what had been the nation's largest municipal bankruptcy. Commission President David Carrington signed the paperwork yesterday closing the deal on the one point seven billion in new sewer debt.  The debt will be paid off by sewer rates, which will go up each and every year for up to forty years. David joined us this morning to explain the changes and what this new agreement means for residents.
