2 Auburn murder suspects face additional charges

AUBURN, AL (WSFA) -

Two Auburn murder suspects charged in a shooting at a bar are now facing additional charges related to the shooting.

According to the Auburn Police Department Shamon Williams, 21, of Opelika, and Shatarious Cobb, 21, of Auburn were arrested Dec. 18 and charged with the murder of Marquez Patrick, 20. Monday, both men were additionally charged with attempted murder related to another victim.

Cobb and Williams are accused of killing Patrick and wounding two others following an altercation at Jackie Lee's Bar on South College Street.

The incident happened in the bar's parking lot around 2:15 a.m. on Dec. 15.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found two male victims, a 22-year-old from Auburn and a 19-year old from Loachapoka, suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were transported to the East Alabama Medical Center where they were treated for their injuries and released. Neither victims' name has been released.

Patrick, an Opelika resident, was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle where he was later pronounced dead.

According to police, many people who were present during the shooting and the altercation after the shooting fled the scene.
