WETUMPKA, AL (WSFA) -

A researcher in Wetumpka found a historical location Sunday after metal detecting.

Ray Camp, one the Alabama Archeometalology Historical Society members, located the remains of a human body that appears to be an undocumented Native American burial.

Camp's metal detector picked up a set of targets which turned out to be copper bracelets. When he removed them from the ground, he realized that the bracelets, picked up by the detector, were attached to radial and ulnar bones.

After further inspection Camp noticed beads and teeth in the burial site.

Camp contacted Heath Jones, founder of AAHS, and they conferred by phone to proceed with proper procedure to make sure the site was an ancient burial and not a crime scene.

"Congratulations to AAHS Researcher Ray Camp for the amazing find and thank you for the integrity to do the right thing." AAHS Founder Heath Jones noted.
