Economic development leaders in Albany say they're seeing growth in an area that needs development.
Wednesday the Albany Dougherty Economic Development Commission discussed some changes in the Pecan Grove Industrial Park in south Dougherty County.
Several companies including Better Brands and ADCO are expanding. And Phoebe Putney Health System will break ground next month on a new distribution center.
"What our hope is, is that this new activity will multiply itself and create opportunities for new retail growth along that corridor. And all in all something we need to see in a part of town that needs growth," said Ted Clem, the Albany-Dougherty EDC President.
The Federal State Shipping Point Inspection service is also moving an office to that area. All the recent developments are expected to create 150 to 200 new jobs.
