BLOUNT COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey says that a high school teacher has been arrested for transmitting obscene materials to a child.

Crystal Gilliland Clowdus, 32, turned herself in to the Blount County Correctional Facility. She is charged with transmitting obscene material to a child by computer.

Her bond is set at $100,000. Casey said earlier this week that Clowdus is on paid administrative leave from the Blount County School System.

Casey also says that the schools superintendent and Susan Moore High School principal may have known about the alleged behavior for a week before reporting it to authorities. She says the ABI is investigating this particular allegation.
