BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

For three days after Christmas, LifeSouth is giving away free movie tickets to people who give blood at various donation sites across Birmingham.

The movie tickets will be offered to everyone who gives blood between Dec. 26 and 28 at several locations, including LifeSouth's donation center at 396 West Oxmoor Road.

The movie tickets will be good for several new films including "Anchor Man II," "The Hobbit," "Saving Mr. Banks," "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty," and "47 Ronin."

LifeSouth officials say they are offering the tickets to encourage people to give blood during a time that is typically a slow time for donations due to holiday travel and school breaks.

According to LifeSouth, donors must be at least 17, or 16 with parental permission, and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds.
