The New Year has been all business for Birmingham police on duty.
Dozens of officers took part in "Operation Crackdown" last night and early this morning to crack down on celebratory gunfire across the city.
Between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 1 a.m. Wednesday, the Shot-Spotter picked up about 500 rounds of gunfire.
Police seized 10 weapons and made 13 arrests. Dispatch answered more than 800 calls for service.
The statistics include all four precincts of the Birmingham Police Department.
