The Montgomery Zoo will be featured on a reality show that airs Friday, January 3rd.
Officials say the zoo will be featured during an episode of the CMT's "Sweet Home Alabama" starting at 9:00 p.m.
According to the shows website, the reality show, which is set in Fairhope, is an epic battle between eleven country guys and eleven city guys who are hoping for a chance to win the heart of a beautiful Southern belle.
During Friday's episode Kelsey, this seasons belle, will be taking the remaining men to the zoo for an up-close animal encounter.
"We were thrilled to learn that Glassman Media wanted to shoot at the Montgomery Zoo," said Kathy Faulk, Manager at the Alabama Film Office. "Andrew Glassman has done a wonderful job of showcasing the beauty of our state and we knew he would get it right. The entire Zoo staff was extremely cooperative, but this couldn't have happened without the coordination of Director Doug Goode, Sara McKinney and Lisa Mathews who manages the animals. True southern hospitality goes a long way and the entire film crew spoke highly of how accommodating everyone was. We are hopeful this is a step towards more filming to come to the Capital City."
"The Montgomery Zoo is truly once of the most-impressive in the country and a destination for travelers, especially those with families. Hopefully fans of the show will put it on a to-do list when visiting the State Capital," says Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce Convention & Visitor Bureau Vice President Dawn Hathcock.
