A little girl's cooking video became the recipe of success for her and her school.
Officials with Uncle Ben's Rice were at Boaz High School Thursday to announce that 7-year-old Sydney Claire Noles was the winner of the Ben's Beginners Cooking Contest.
Not only did Noles win $15,000 for herself, but her school, Corley Elementary, will receive a $30,000 cafeteria makeover. Noles became a top-three finalist this past autumn, and the public voted her dish, Crockpot Chicken & Rice Supreme, the winner on the contest's website.
The big winner said she may give away some of her winnings.
"I think I'm going to donate some to St. Jude and buy a toy or two, and maybe put some in Blessings in a Backpack," said Sydney.
School officials said they are still deciding how to renovate the cafeteria.
