A former supervisor at the Birmingham Water Works has pleaded not guilty to charges of theft, his attorney confirmed Thursday.
In November, Daryl Davis was indicted on nine counts of first degree theft and one count of second degree theft in an overtime payment scheme.
Davis is accused of telling his employees to submit time sheets that included overtime they never actually worked. Some of the overtime pay was then allegedly given back to Davis.
Attorney Ken Gomany said his client appeared in a Jefferson County courtroom on Friday and pleaded not guilty to the charges. Gomany said he is looking forward to the May 5 trial to exonerate his client.
