HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Doctors have said January is the peak season for flu. The physicians at Huntsville Pediatrics said they expect numbers to increase soon.

As flu cases rise in Alabama, Huntsville Pediatric Associates continue to add little patients to that list. Last week, doctors tested 84 children for flu and 30 were positive, all with Type A.

Doctors said since the last two weeks, all of their numbers have been lower, but they expect those to increase since the holidays have passed and school is back in session.

In total, 7 tested positive for walking pneumonia, 13 for strep throat and 34 for the respiratory virus RSV.
