Operation Kidsafe says it wants to do just that. The organization is hosting two events this weekend in Birmingham, offering free digital photo and fingerprint services for children. The records will be stored in the National Crime Computer.
organization says that if a child is kidnapped or lost, these digital documents
could be quickly accessed by police officials and the FBI. Parents or legal guardians will receive a hard copy of their child's digital fingerprints which they could share with law enforcement in case of an emergency.
Operation Kidsafe also focuses on educating children about safety tips, and gives families a chance to discuss a family safety plan.
The events will be held at the Serra Chevrolet located at 1170 Center Point Parkway in Birmingham. The first event is on Friday, January 24, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the second is Saturday, January 25, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
