City of Rock Hill cleans up after winter storm

ROCK HILL, SC (WBTV) -

WBTV was there as Rock Hill Public Works crews loaded their dump trucks earlier Wednesday morning with sand and screening to lay over the city's iciest roads, but freezing temperature makes it hard for the mixture to stick to the ice.

Parts of Constitution Boulevard were closed due to too many accidents Wednesday morning.

"I slid a lot, especially on those back roads," said driver Ray Logan

Drivers including Ray Logan told me they had a rough time getting around, Wednesday, due to the icy conditions.

"Just be Careful. Use good judgment," said Logan.

"Stay home if you can," said driver Robert Walsh.

Friendly advice from drivers who braved the elements today because, with forecasts of overnight freezing temperatures again, it's advice you may need.

Governor Nikki Haley declared a state of emergency for the Palmetto state.

That's means the state's Emergency Operations Center is active and it puts state's laws into effect that prevent price gouging during the storm.
