St. Clair County

Conditions as of 2 p.m., according to St. Clair County EMA:

County Road 9 in Springville-Closed from Murphrees Valley Rd to Blount County Line

Highway 78 at Happy Hollow Church (Moody) is now passable.

Hwy 231 North from Pell City to Ashville is moving, but proceed with caution due to icy patches.

Margaret road conditions:

Sanie Road- Passable-Ice at CO Rd 12

Sanie Rd at North Valley Church-Impassable as of 4:09 p.m.

Co Rd 12-Passable

Summit Park-Passable

Old Acton-Passable

South HillCrest Road-Passable

The EMA says once the temperature drops tonight, the cars that remain on the road should stay there until tomorrow.

Conditions as of 10:30 a.m., according to St. Clair County EMA:

County Roads 33, 24, 22-Passable-icy spots

County Road 22 (Shoal Creek Rd) to 231-Passable but can't turn left on 231 (cars blocking road)

County 22 (Shoal Creek Rod) to 411-Clear

County Road 21-Very Icy-County DOT is currently working on this road

Steele Area-A few slick spots but people are traveling the roads

Pleasant Valley Road-East PV (okay to travel) West PV (Very Icy)

Old Coal City Road-Passable-Icy spots

Sanie Road (Odenville)- Very icy in the S curves

Sanie Road (Margaret)-Road blocked at South HillCrest Road

 

Calhoun County

3 p.m. update from Calhoun County EMA

All county roads are impassable at this time. Whites Gap Road from Whites Gap road SE to Hollingsworth Road is closed. Cottaquilla Road from Whites Gap Road to Hwy 9 is closed. Bains Gap Mountain is closed.

Anniston Roads: At 5 p.m., all roads in the city of Anniston will be open EXCEPT Greenbriar Road and Henry Road. Those two roads are closed except to residents.

Piedmont Roads: Open

Jacksonville Roads: Will be open at 3 PM.

Oxford Roads: All major road ways are open but secondary roads are closed.

Weaver Roads: Open

Ohatchee Roads: Closed

Heflin Roads: City roads open as of 4:30 p.m. County roads are still very icy, according to the Heflin Police Department's Facebook page.

State and Federal Highways: Open. I-20 open but traffic is very heavy and moving slowly if at all in spots. When traveling on open roads, please do so carefully. There are still icy spots out there. Do NOT attempt to drive around a barricade to access a closed road.

 

Talladega County

1 p.m. update from Talladega County EMA

All roads in Talladega County are open, but drivers are urged to be cautious.

 

Etowah County

Noon update from Etowah County EMA:

The Etowah County Engineering Department has upgraded the condition of county roads from impassable to advisory. This means some icing is still present on main roads and especially secondary ones. Use caution when driving.

 

Coosa County

All roads in Coosa County opened at 4 p.m. but there are still patches of ice.
