As of noon, most roads are open but city is still in "emergency storm mode." Check the Hoover Police Department's Facebook page for info on what to do if you wrecked during the winter storm, or how to find your car if it was abandoned.
Hoover Police say they will not tow vehicles on the side of the road, but they will move cars if they are blocking traffic.
"Efforts will be made to keep the vehicle in the general/immediate area," the department posted.
If you still cannot find your car, contact HPD at (205) 444-7700.
As of noon, the Pelham Police Department listed the following roads as closed:
Hwy 261 at Bearden Road (other sections open)
Hwy 52 East at the Pelham Heights and Dearing Downs area. This area is being cleared now and hopefully will be passable soon.
State Park Road (Hopefully open in the next two hours)
Weatherly Club Drive/Ballantrae Parkway still has a couple of icy spots but officers are moving traffic through one lane and if motorists are cautious it is passable. If you have left a car on Weatherly Club Drive/Ballantrae Parkway in Pelham it is possible and safe now to move them.
The department also posted this note about towed vehicles:
Anyone who left a vehicle on the street or on the side of the street and whose vehicle is not where you left it, please check with Pelham Police Department or Hoover Police Department first to see if either agency towed or moved your vehicle. If they did not please check with Action Towing at 2053906596 to see if they have your vehicle.
UNLESS YOU SPECIFICALLY CALLED AND AUTHORIZED ACTION TOWING TO MOVE OR TOW YOUR CAR THERE SHOULD BE NO CHARGE TO RECOVER YOUR VEHICLE FROM ACTION TOWING, EITHER INDIVIDUALLY OR FROM YOUR INSURANCE.
North Shelby County
