TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Marcus Griffin, a four-star defensive tackle from Bellevue (Wash.) High School, picked Arizona over Mississippi State in a Signing Day announcement this morning at his high school.

Griffin's announcement was the major decision Arizona was waiting on during Signing Day, although there could still be some surprises throughout the day.

Griffin, who was originally committed to Washington State, brings needed size to UA's three-man defensive front. Griffin (6-3, 285) is rated the 22nd-best defensive tackle in the country and the third-best player in the state of Washington by Rivals.com.

He joins a pair of junior college signees on the defensive line for Arizona -- Jeff Worthy (who started his career at Boise State) and Jerod Cody from Glendale Community College. Both of those players are enrolled and will compete for roles during spring practice.

One of UA's committed high school defensive linemen -- Sharif Williams from Fresno, Calif., -- is not expected to sign today. Williams, who suffered a season-ended knee injury in the first game of his senior year -- will be delaying his enrollment until the spring 2015 semester.
