Thursday, Jefferson County commissioners voted to end a legal fight involving the former head of Cooper Green Mercy Hospital.
Former CEO Dr. Sandral Hullett sued the county for placing her on administrative leave without pay in 2012 her during the county's financial troubles and the hospital's transition to an outpatient facility. Hullett wanted to return as CEO.
Commissioners approved a $250,000 settlement to end the lawsuit.
Hullett's leave came after a meeting with the county assuring her that she would be retained through the hospital's transition. She was placed on leave in December 2012.
In March 2013, a personnel officer said in a report that Hullett should not have been put on administrative leave without pay.
