Butler County has been awarded $500,000 grant through the 21st Century Workforce Fund.
The announcement was made Wednesday.
The grant will help fund customized courses and training for the kinds of jobs being filled in Butler County. The money will be used to create two academies -- industrial maintenance and health sciences -- at Greenville High School.
The idea is to give high school graduates the opportunity to immediately enter the workforce with the kinds of training and skills Butler County employers are looking for.
