A 16-year-old girl from Ensley is being charged as an adult for shooting into a car full of people in a drug-related feud earlier in February.
The teenage suspect, Jacorria McDaniel, faces three attempted murder charges, plus charges of shooting into an occupied car and building.
No one was injured in the shooting, which happened in the Edgewater community in the 7400 block of Canada Avenue just after 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8.
When Jefferson County deputies got to the scene, witnesses and a victim told them that three people were in a car traveling on Canada Avenue when their cousin's girlfriend, later identified as McDaniel, opened fire at them with a handgun.
The victims told deputies there was an "ongoing feud" because the cousin thought the group of people in the car had stolen money and heroin from him.
Deputies found McDaniel at an address given to them by the victims and questioned her. McDaniel admitted to shooting at the car and told deputies where she had hidden the gun, Chief Deputy Randy Christian said.
McDaniel was initially released from questioning to her mother. On Feb. 20, she was charged as an adult for attempted murder, shooting into an occupied car and shooting into an occupied building.
She was taken into custody on Feb. 21 and is in the Jefferson County Jail on a $235,000 bond.
