BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Researchers at UAB will be participating in a large scale study on Parkinson's disease sponsored by The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

The school will be one of 32 clinical sites looking at individuals with genetic mutations that are associated with the disease.

The program will enroll participants with either the LRRK2 or the SNCA gene and researchers will then examine them for the next five years.

Interested individuals can visit www.michaeljfox.org/ppmi/genetics, call 877-836-8108 or e-mail slguth@uab.edu for more information.
