A Coosa County teacher was arrested this week for having sex with a student.
Jimmy Reed Nickolson III, 38, was booked into the Coosa County Jail on Tuesday, March 11 on one count of a school employee having sex with a student. He was released on a $50,000 bond on Wednesday, March 12.
Nickolson is listed as an auto tech teacher on the Coosa County Science and Technology Center's website. He was in the staff/faculty spotlight for February 2014 on Central High School's website, with his photo and a link to the spotlight story still on the home page.
The online article says Nickolson has been an automotive instructor for 13 years, including seven years teaching at Southern Union State Community College before he started teaching at the Coosa County Science and Technical Center. He is a graduate of Central High School, class of 1993.
The article states Nickolson is a "lifelong resident of Coosa County and has been married for 18 years." He also has three kids.
The Coosa County Sheriff's Office website says Nickolson was booked at 4:52 p.m. on Tuesday and released on a property bond at 9:22 a.m. Wednesday morning.
