The former manager of a Selma hotel was arrested Thursday after a month-long investigation.
Selma police say Rufus Lee Ford, 44, has been charged with theft of property first degree and fraudulent use of a credit or debit card.
Ford is accused of embezzling between $50,000 and $100,000 from Hampton Inn when he was the general manager.
He's accused of making charges on accounts for personal reasons and letting customers stay for extended time periods for rates that weren't consistent with the hotel's normal rates.
Ford was arrested at a hotel in Marion where he was working as a manager.
Ford is being held in the Dallas County Jail on $200,000 bond.
