HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Students and employees from Oakwood University will participate in the worldwide Global Youth Day, a day of service sponsored by the Youth Department of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.

Volunteers will help out in the greater Huntsville community on Saturday under the theme "Global Youth Day 4HIM." The university's Office of Spiritual Life has planned events including clothing and food distribution at three of Huntsville's urban housing communities and visitation with nursing home residents. Volunteers will visit Butler Terrace & L.R. Patton, Oscar Mason Center and Searcy Housing Complex.

Activities will last from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. All of these activities will be aired on the Hope Church Channel. There will be an hour-long special at 7 p.m.
