JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Although Reverend Leonard Boddie was not on the docket for court Monday, he made a brief appearance with his attorney.

Boddie was in Judge Houston Patton's courtroom to answer to an identity theft charge.

His attorney requested that Boddie remain free on bond and Judge Patton agreed.

Boddie is a former guidance counselor at the Mississippi National Guard and had access to hundreds if not thousands of social security numbers.

Boddie resigned from the guard effective January 31.

The Mississippi National Guard says it does not believe Boddie compromised any social security numbers.
