Women's college basketball takes the spotlight Monday as the NCAA reveals which 64 teams are invited to the postseason tournament, which will culminate in Nashville for the Final Four in April.
It's the first time the big finish to the women's tournament takes place in Nashville, and while the games are already close to sold out, all the fun stuff around the games will be completely free.
The festivities begin Friday, April 4, with a parade of teams downtown. Then, on Saturday morning, the 4Kay Run will raise money to benefit cancer research through the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, named for the late North Carolina State head basketball coach Kay Yow.
Kids up to age 18 can participate in the Broadway Bounce on Saturday, April 5, as they dribble their way through downtown and receive a free T-shirt and basketball.
And throughout the weekend the Music City Center will host Tourney Town, a free fan festival, which will include a mascot challenge, pep rally for participating schools and a free concert with Cassadee Pope and Danielle Bradbery along with other activities.
As for the games, the national semifinals are set for Sunday, April 6, with the national championship game to follow on Tuesday, April 8.
