A woman accused of posing as a nurse and calling in a fake prescription to an Andalusia pharmacy has been convicted.
After a two-day trial, Janna Leigh Nelson, 32, was found guilty of attempted unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
According to the Covington County District Attorney's Office, evidence at trial showed that Nelson pretended to be a nurse from a local doctor's office and called in a fake prescription for lortab to the Rite Aid in Andalusia in February 2010.
Pharmacists thought the call seemed odd and contacted the doctor to verify the prescription. The doctor denied prescribing the medication. Drug Task Force agents were waiting at the pharmacy when Nelson arrived.
