Severe storms slammed much of the state on Monday afternoon and evening. According to FOX6 meteorologist J-P Dice, it looks like things will be fairly quiet Tuesday morning, but we are far from out of the woods.
We can expect severe storms again in the forecast Tuesday afternoon and evening. At this point, the front could push severe storms into west Alabama beginning at 3 p.m., central Alabama by 4 p.m. and into east Alabama after 4 p.m.
High temperatures will reach the lower 80s again during the day on Tuesday. If you see sunshine on Tuesday, it will be bad, since it will only add to the instability.
As a cold front pushes through our state Tuesday, severe storms could form immediately ahead of the colder air. The Nation's Storm Prediction Center has placed most of west central Alabama under a higher risk of seeing severe weather, but the entire state could experience strong to severe storms.
J-P says the storms will appear more as a line during the afternoon and evening moving from the west to east across the state. The severe weather threat will likely continue through the early morning hours Wednesday.
Wednesday morning most of the storms should be pushing into southeast Alabama and eventually out of the state, then we have several days of tranquil weather ahead, including a wonderful weekend with mostly sunny skies.
