WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

Point Guard Jordan Talley has verbally committed to attend and play basketball at UNCW. For new Seahawks head coach Kevin Keatts this is the first recruit he has landed since being hired.

Talley, who is from Richmond, led Henrico High School to a 2013 Group AA state title before headed to Fishburne Military School.

The 6-0, 180 pound Talley had offers from Towson, Texas State, Campbell and Longwood. He had also made an official visit to Bowling Green and had interest from College of Charleston and Marshall.

The Seahawks also landed Jacksonville University shooting guard Jarvis Haywood, who will transfer to UNCW. He will have to sit out the 2014-15 per NCAA rules, but will have two years to play for the Seahawks.

As a sophomore the 6-4 Haywood averaged 16 points-per-game for the Dolphins. Haywood was drawing interest from major programs. He was set to visit Cincinnati, and also has NC State, Temple, and Richmond on his list.
