More than 1,000 Alabamians have registered with FEMA for storm assistance in the wake of the April 28-29 severe weather.
FEMA released the latest numbers on their storm recovery efforts in Alabama on Tuesday.
To date, 1,140 Alabama storm survivors have registered with FEMA. Housing assistance was approved for 1,068 people and assistance for other needs was approved for 385 people.
FEMA has approved $6,073,205 in individual assistance so far. They've approved $5,173,738 in "other needs" assistance and $899,468 in housing assistance.
The Small Business Administration has approvied $126,000 in low-interest disaster loans as well.
FEMA individual assistance is available for the following nine Alabama counties: Jefferson, Tuscaloosa, Blount, Etowah, Baldwin, DeKalb, Lee, Limestone and Mobile.

-An individual may choose to receive SMS (Short Message Service) messaging during Registration Intake. This option allows them to have various notifications sent to their smart device regarding their FEMA application.
Disaster recovery centers are open in several counties. They're open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday at the following locations:
