Graduation is a special occasion but one family is worried that a father will not make it to see his son, a Mortimer Jordan High School student, walk across the stage.
According to family members, the father, Greg Woods, is very sick. Relatives say he is in a lot of pain and fading away each day.
Cindy Wallace says her brother-in-law wants to share one last memory with his son Kyle Woods, who is a senior. Kyle graduates next week but Cindy fears that his father may not survive that long.
"He is in his last stages of COPD. He is on a lot of medication and can barely get out of bed. He knew he was sick. He knew he was dying but his last wish was to see his son graduate. When he found out I called FOX6 on Your Side and the school, I was on the phone with his mother when she told him and he just cried," said Cindy Wallace.
FOX6 on Your Side Consumer Reporter Ronda Robinson contacted the school for the family. The principal is working to grant this final wish. Ronda will let us you know what happens.
Greg's son Kyle Woods plans to join the Air Force after graduation.
