Hewitt-Trussville Has a New Head Football Coach

Hewitt-Trussville has hired coach Josh Floyd to be it's new head football coach.  Floyd comes to Hewitt from Shiloh Christian High School in Arkansas.  Floyd has been the head coach at Shiloh for the last 10 years, compiling a record of 99-29-1.  His Shiloh teams played in 5 state championship games, winning 4. 

Floyd was also named one of the country's top 10 coaches under the age of 40 by The American Football Monthly.

Floyd played quarterback at Shiloh Christian from 1996-1998 under coach Gus Malzahn.  Coach Malzahn was one of Floyd's references for the job at Hewitt-Trussville.

Floyd broke state and national passing records while leading his team to the state title in 1998.  He played for Ouachita Baptist University until an injury ended his career.

He graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor's Degree in Health and Physical Education.
He and his wife, Kate, were married in January 2003.  They have 3 sons.
