CHAMBERS COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

Police in East Alabama have released video of a police chase that ended with a bang.

Valley Police were chasing a man accused of violating a protective order. The chase finally ended when the man hit a police cruiser head on.

The video was shot by 16-year-old Jared Hinkle, whose father is a sheriff's deputy. Hinkle was riding along with another deputy as part of the Boy Scouts' Explorer Program.

"As the vehicle was coming towards us I was terrified as to what was about to happen, but my adrenaline was pumping and everyone was OK, and I got out and called my dad and everything worked out just fine," Hinkle said.

Neither Hinkle nor the deputy were hurt. The video will be used as evidence in the suspect's criminal trial.
