PHILADELPHIA (WTXF/FOX) - A newlywed couple skipped out on a honeymoon in a tropical paradise to look for their beloved dog.

Amanda and Nick Stuart tied the knot Saturday and were supposed to be honeymooning in Hawaii this week.

Nick Stuart said his dad was supposed to watch their 11-month-old pit bull, Bailey, but Saturday night she bolted.

"She's the sweetest dog, and she loves us and our other dogs, and she's just become a part of our family," Amanda Stuart said.

After spending several hours over four days looking and posting fliers, the Stuarts and everyone helping them search had an emotional reunion.

The newlyweds said honeymoon plans will remain on hold until they can get up enough nerve to part with their pets again.

"We're not leaving her anytime soon," Amanda Stuart said. "She's going to stay right in our eyesight."
