Bessemer Disaster Recovery Center, Tuscaloosa SBA center closing Friday

The FEMA/Alabama EMA Disaster Recovery Center in Bessemer and the Small Business Administration loan outreach center in Tuscaloosa are both closing at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 6.

However, the DRC location at Lawson State Community College in Bessemer will reopen on Saturday, June 7 as an SBA center.

The SBA center will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

The Disaster Recovery Center at the Maurice C. West Community Center in Graysville will remain open a little longer. DRCs remain open in Baldwin, Limestone and Mobile counties.

Storme victims are encouraged to register with FEMA even if they are injured. The deadline to register is midnight on July 1.

-If you have a speech disability, are deaf or hard of hearing, call (TTY) 800-462-7585

-If you use 711 or Video Relay Service, call 800-621-3362

-An individual may choose to receive SMS (Short Message Service) messaging during Registration Intake. This option allows them to have various notifications sent to their smart device regarding their FEMA application.
