Three people hurt after overnight shootings in Columbus

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Columbus Police are investigating after three people were injured in two separate overnight shootings.

The most recent shooting occurred at the G&B Food Mart located on Brown Avenue at about 3 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10. A male cab driver, whose name has not been released, was shot at the G&B Food Mart and walked to the Mystic Food Mart where he asked the clerk to call police. He was taken to Midtown Medical Center and is listed in unsatisfactory condition. Police are working to obtain surveillance video from the gas stations where the incident occurred.

Police are also investigating a shooting that happened Monday night at about 11:30 p.m. on the 2900 block of 12th Avenue in Columbus. Jesse Denson, 33, was shot in the hip, and Curtis Morten, 22, was shot in the chest. They were both taken to Midtown Medical Center. Denson has been released from the hospital. Morten remains in the Intensive Care Unit in unsatisfactory condition.

No suspects have been identified in either shooting, and both cases remain under investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
