Literacy Council moves to temporary location after loft fire

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Some people who work to improve literacy in our area are on the move.

The Literacy Council of Central Alabama suffered major smoke and water damage May 22 when a fire started above them in the Liberty House Lofts. The council's offices are on the ground floor of the same building.

Thankfully, there were no injuries reported in that fire.

Tuesday, they moved to their temporary space located at 2218 2nd Ave. N.
