Firefighters battled a suspicious house fire in Union Grove for the second time early Thursday morning.
The Brindlee Mountain Volunteer Fire Department first responded to the house fire around 9 p.m. Wednesday on the 2900 block of Rescue Road.
The home sustained extensive damage in the fire and crews were called out to the scene to cut power.
Shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday, a deputy on patrol saw heavy fire coming from the back side of the house. Firefighters responded again and were able to extinguish the fire.
Firefighters cleared the scene just before 5 a.m. Authorities believe the house fire is suspicious and could potentially be arson.
It's not yet known if anyone was home at the time of the fire. Authorities continue to investigate.
