Here is what you saw on Good Day Alabama for June 23, 2014:

SCOTT LIVE - The 1920's brought about prohibition, but that didn't dry up baseball in Birmingham. The Charleston may have been the dance craze, but baseball was still the sports craze. This was a decade of exciting baseball for both The Birmingham Barons and Rickwood Field. Rickwood hosted teams from all across the country and it hosted baseball greats such at Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Lou Gehrig and a host of others who traveled into Birmingham on one of the many baseball junkets of that era. The 19th Annual Rickwood Classic celebrates the decade of the Roaring Twenties. This year the Rickwood Classic celebrates the 1948 Birmingham Black Barons. Come dressed in your best 1940s attire to show your support. You can also come straight from work or dressed for a warm day in your favorite Barons' gear! This year's event is Wednesday at Rickwood Field (1137 Second Avenue West, Birmingham, AL 35204). Gates open at 11:00 AM, the ceremony starts at 12:00 PM, and the game starts at 12:30 PM. Tickets are general admission and $10 each.  For more information, visit http://rickwoodclassic.com.

MUSIC WINNERS - The University of Alabama at Birmingham's Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center presented a free community festival celebrating ASC Commissions Birmingham on Saturday. The free, family-friendly festival, LOCAL, showcased the best of Birmingham music, merchants and vendors on the longest day of the year, outside on the Engel Plaza at the ASC, 1200 10th Ave. South. In January, the ASC asked songwriters and composers to share their talent by submitting one or more songs or compositions about Birmingham. All genres and instruments were eligible, but the song must be original. In response, 86 video submissions were made. The 12 finalists performed their own song written about Birmingham at LOCAL. Three performers, selected by a panel of judges, will each receive studio time at UAB to record their winning songs. Those three joined us this morning on Good Day Alabama. They are Josh Vasa, Wilder Adkins and Wisdom Bibbs. They each performed their winner song.
