Area Six-Man coaches, players to represent USA

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

For team USA, Coach Bear Chesley makes his fifth trip North of the Border this year, leading six-man football players from Texas, Montana, Colorado and Wyoming to Can-Am Bowl VIII July 5 in Hague, Saskatchewan.

Chesley, who is Wilson's new football coach, is 4-0 at the Can-Am Bowl.

"Everybody's buying into the whole Soccer thing now. I see on FaceBook Go Team USA, but the Can-Am Bowl is not for another week! It's a great opportunity for these kids."

Chesley's Coaching staff is made up of local West Texas Coaches: Jay Bingham (Ropes), Brian Sepkowitz (Kingdom Prep) and Chase Ryan (former Wilson Coach) and among the Texas players on the team is Austin Castillo from Wilson. This is the six-man Super Bowl for these kids.

"A lot of these Texas kids, this is their last one. We treat this like a State Championship. They get bowl rings if they win. That's how we treat it like a State Championship. We make sure they put in their all and its awesome, awesome."

Chesley and the Coaching staff will drive the team 27 hours to Canada for the game. While they will pass in the game, every player and athlete needs a passport to cross the Border.

We wish Team USA good luck as they face Team Canada in the Can-Am Bowl July 5th.
