HOOVER, AL (WBRC) -

Hoover police are searching for a man charged with killing his pregnant wife early Saturday morning.

Officers said around 12:32 a.m. they received a 911 call from a domestic violence victim at 3262 Warringwood Drive. The female caller reported a physical altercation between her and her husband and requested help.

When police arrived on the scene they found the victim, 29-year-old Rashon Deidrenette Bester Epps, lying in front of the couple's apartment in the parking lot.

"She was transported to UAB Hospital where she was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound to her head. The victim was pregnant," Hoover Police Captain Jim Coker said.

Resident Erica Westfield told FOX6 she saw the victim's husband Brian Darnell Epps, 29, crash his car into a nearby tree. She says he then got out and fled the scene on foot.

Westfield says the couple had been arguing since early in the evening.

"I wish I would have called the police then, when I heard them still going. She was telling him to get out," Westfield said. "And I heard the girl say just leave her alone and all of sudden the truck just (makes sound of tires skidding on pavement), and then you just heard one gunshot."

Detectives obtained a warrant for Epps' arrest. He is charged with capital murder with no bond. The capital murder charge stems from the victim being currently pregnant.

Epps is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Sergeant Keith Czeskleba at 205-739-6795
