This week, Ronda Robinson checks out a homemade AC unit put together by FOX6 meteorologist Mickey Ferguson.
Ferguson found inspiration to try his hand at this device by watching YouTube videos.
"I got me a cooler for $14," Ferguson said.
Then he grabbed a clip fan that cost about $7 and some pvc pipe.
"I bought it already cut for about 70 cents. I put this pvc got a magic marker drew around it. I got an electric jig saw cut it out real slowly," he said.
Ferguson said just about anyone could put all of this together in just a few hours.
"Its not too difficult," he said.
The entire unit cost less than $30.
We added ice to the cooler, turned on the fan and waited for some cool air.
The temperature before we started the fan was 73 degrees. When we checked the temperature it had dropped to 65 degrees.
We are giving Ferguson's contraption a big thumbs up!
