TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -

A centerpiece of Tuscaloosa's Veterans Memorial Park has returned home.

Crews brought the park's helicopter back on Thursday morning. It was taken down two months ago for a new paint job and some minor repair work.

Jeff Brown, chairman of Tuscaloosa County Veterans Memorial Park Association, says it was important to have it back for the Fourth of July.

"It attracts attention of a lot of veterans and of course family members as well as they travel down McFarland Boulevard," Brown said.

The helicopter is one of several attractions at the park next to University Mall. Folks can visit Tuscaloosas Veteran's Memorial Park free of charge.
