Fire ravages Clay Church

Fire ravages Clay Church

Posted: Updated:

An early Saturday morning fire has left severe interior damage to Claybridge Baptist Church in Clay.

Around 3:30 am Ron Hugens, pastor, received a call from Center Point Fire and Rescue notifying him that the church was on fire.

Direct fire damage left debris primarily in the main sanctuary and a section of the building that is used as daycare during the week.

Center Point Fire Marshal Matt Angelo says that although the cause of the fire is still under intevestigation, it appears that the fire started from the inside.

The congregation will hold it's Sunday morning service outside.

Pastor Hugens asks all parents with questions concerning the daycare to contact himRPHudgens@yahoo.com.
