DALLAS (KTVT/CNN) - President Barack Obama was greeted by Texas Gov. Rick Perry as he arrived in Dallas Wednesday, after the governor initially refused to meet the president at the airport.

Obama and Perry are meeting to discuss immigration during the president's trip.

But Obama has faced sharp criticism for not going to the border while he's in Texas.

Tuesday, the president requested nearly $4 billion in emergency funds to respond to the immigration surge, which the White House calls an urgent humanitarian situation.
