(CNN) - Secretary of State John Kerry is in Kabul trying to mediate something of a standoff, over Afghanistan's presidential election.
John Kerry has been meeting with the country's outgoing president, Hamid Karzai.
He has held closed-door talks with the two candidates vying to succeed him.
Early results put Ashraf Ghani, former finance minister, ahead in the vote-count, by several points.
But Abdullah Abdullah, former foreign minister, says there's been massive fraud.
U.S. officials say they have no favorite in the race, however it is pressing for a thorough review of the vote, for legitimacy's sake.
